Floral Spitfire Returns to Memorial Gardens

Floral Spitfire Returns to Memorial Gardens

1

This summer marks the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain - the first decisive battle fought entirely in the air and to this day remains the greatest air battle in history. In 1940, the skies above Kent became Britain’s front line, as young pilots from Britain and the Commonwealth took to the air in Spitfires to defend our freedom against the odds.

The floral Spitfire is a tribute to those brave pilots who became known as ‘The Few’.

📅 On display until September, come and see this tribute and discover more about Kent’s proud connection to the Spitfire.
