New for this year, there will be a special session where you book to view some of the completed lanterns before they go out into the procession in the lower level of County Square. These sessions are aimed at people that cant make the parade for various reasons and for those with additional needs who would rather view the lanterns in a calmer setting.
There will be an open meet the artist session for the general public to come to view the lanterns from 11.30 to 12.15 (drop in) and then 3 SEN specific slots later on in the day with reduced numbers of 16 people per slot. The slots will be 45 mins long where you can meet 2 of the bauble artists to ask them any questions and be given a little tour of the willow sculptural lanterns.
The main lights will be dimmed and lantern lights on so you can experience the magic of the illuminated lanterns without coming to the parade. There will be a small number of headphones that can be borrowed at the sessions as well as some sensory toys & fidgets available too.
