Local sound artists Sophie Stone and Thomas Green (drum&ink) collaborate as Artists in Residence in Ashford for Create Music Village to explore the sounds of Ashford, and their associated stories and lived experiences.

How to get involved:

• Submit sounds and recordings of music making to contribute to the project.
• Join the artists on soundwalks across Ashford.
• Join the artists for a sound making workshop (ages 5-11).
• Listen to the final soundscapes at some of your favourite community spots in Ashford Town centre, and online.

Explore the acoustic landscape of neighbourhoods which make up Ashford’s sense of place through shared intentional listening and reflection. We will walk, listen, record and discuss the sounds we hear. Join us with your family and friends. Children and dogs are encouraged.

A notepad and pen/pencil are recommended. Be prepared to explore for up to one hour.
